Which Rooke Boot Is Right For You?

For more than 20 years, Rooke Boots has provided physicians and patients with optimal insulation and protection to lower extremities. There are four different Rooke Boots specifically designed to fit patients needs, but how do you choose the right one? The following will explain a detailed description of each boot.

Rooke Boot HFS 

Rooke® Heel Float System™ Boot

The Rooke Boot Heel Floating System is the #1 choice for vascular surgeons in the United States. The advanced protection of the heel floating system provides quality protection and enhanced profusion to help overall limb health. It provides excellent release of pressure on the heel and prevents any pressure points along the limb and allows for emulation. It also includes pre-cut slots for SCD tubes. The Rooke Boot HFS comes in two sizes: regular and petite.

Indications for Use:

  • Long term care
  • Vasopressed patients in the ICU & IABP
  • Vascular LE ischemic wounds/pressure ulcers

Rooke Boot Breeze

Rooke® Boot BreezeThe Rooke Boot Breeze is designed for two specific conditions:

  1. Patient whose profusion is not as large as issue therefore it’s cooler
  2. Issue of foot drop prevention is addressed by “built-in wings” which doesn’t require any effort to use as they are built in

The use of wings lift heel slightly which provides good protection for heel pressure point issues and allows for emulation. Similar to the Rooke Boot HFS, there are pre-cut slots for SCD tubes. One size fits most-up to men’s size 14.

Indications for Use:

  • Long term care
  • Patients in the ICU
  • Wound prevention in hospitalized patients
  • Patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Patients with Spinal Cord Injuries

Rooke Soft AFO Boot

Rooke® Soft AFO™ BootThe Rooke Soft AFO Boot is perfect for patients in a “tight tone” situation or trying to stabilize the progression of foot drop. The Soft AFO uses a foam covered malleable aluminum splint to protect the heel. It can be adjusted by a professional to help correct a contracture. The splint is removable. If the parent no longer needs protection, it can be used as the Rooke Boot HFS. One size fits all.

Indications for Use:

  • Prevention of foot drop
  • Help correction patients in a tight-tone situation
  • Additional offloading for heel ulcers

Classic Rooke Boot

Classic Rooke® BootThe Classic Rooke Boot was introduced in 1986 as the first original Rooke Boot. It is designed to completely surround the foot, heel and calf. The Classic Rooke Boot provides excellent at-home long term care when sized correctly. It offers a closed toe for protection when ambulating and offers great profusion boost for the limb.

Indications for Use:

  • Ischemia
  • Neuropathy
  • Pressures Ulcers

Rooke Mitt

Rooke® MittThe Rooke Mitt is designed to keep patients’ hand warm using natural warmth generated by wearing the mitt which will create a vasodilatory cascade. It is dedicated to patients suffering from Raynaud’s syndrome and related issues. For Raynaud’s patients, the natural warmth will dilate the distal vascular bed so the throbbing pain subsides.

Indications for Use: 

  • Patients at home or long term care facilities 
  • Raynaud’s
  • Hand Ischemia
  • Buerger’s Disease
  • Scleroderma

Rooke Heel Float System Accessory Pack

Rooke® Heel Float System™ Accessory PackThe Rooke HFS Accessory Pack includes an anti-rotation wedges and foot drop strap to be used with the Rooke HFS off loading boot. The wedge is used in the HFS and Breeze boots. It’s available separately or can be purchased together with the Rooke HFS Boot. The HFS comes with a strap kit. When applied it keeps foot up right and prevents foot drop.
